Mission Statement:

The mission of Riverdale Baptist Church is to celebrate God’s presence, instruct God’s people, demonstrate God’s love, reach God’s world, and connect God’s children.

The 5 purposes of Riverdale:

1. We exist to celebrate God’s Presence (Worship) – Psalm 29:2 – “Give honor to the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.” (NLT)

2. We exist to instruct God’s People (Disciple) – Hebrews 6:1 – “So let us stop going over the basics of Christianity again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding…” (NLT)

3. We exist to demonstrate God’s Love (Service) – I Corinthians 12:4-5 – “Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service in the church, but it is the same Lord we are serving.” (NLT)

4. We exist to reach God’s World (Evangelism) – Romans 10:13-15 – “For anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is what the Scriptures means when they say, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’ ” (NLT)

5. We exist to connect God’s Children (Fellowship) – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,12 – “Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.” (NLT)
